Tennis coaching journey
From the age of 11, Melina has been playing competitive tennis, representing Middlesex at County Level, training at Queen's Club in London and representing the University of Leicester's tennis team.
Following graduation from University, she gained both her PTR Instructor and LTA Level 3 coaching qualifications. She started her coaching career as an assistant coach at Brookmans Park Tennis Club. At this time, she started coaching at people's private courts around Hertfordshire. She was head hunted for the Head Coach's position at Bounds Green Tennis Club. Following her attendance at the PTR Coaching Symposium in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, she was offered a prestigious coaching position at the Van Der Meer Tennis Academy, training young athletes hoping to gain scholarships within the American University System and ultimately become pros.
Since her return to the UK, she has been coaching private clients and squads in North London. She is an LTA Accreditation plus Licenced tennis coach, meaning that she has a DBS Enhanced check, and has carried out safeguarding and First Aid courses.
